The story behind this collaboration

Two brands,one reason.

Gahalu

Sandals for going to the mountain, the forest and the sea.

Gahalu takes its name from those three words: Gunung, Hutan, Laut. Its sandals are made for people who need a reason to get out, along a beach, up a hill, or simply on a long walk through the city. Wakatobi is its signature sandal, named like the rest of the range after places in Indonesia. The sole is anti-slip for wet rock and pavement, the footbed is ergonomic with arch support, and the materials are bio-based so the footprint left behind is lighter. This sandal was being worn far before this collaboration existed.

Kasual makes menswear for every day, from work trousers to jackets. Of every fabric we have used, the suede on the Marco Suede Jacket is the one people ask about most: soft, never hot, and better the longer it is worn. When Gahalu offered the Wakatobi as the canvas, we knew which material we wanted to bring. The straps on this version are cut from the same suede as that jacket, in four sample colours. Sole, footbed and buckle remain Gahalu's.

The suede Kasual has used for jackets now wraps the Wakatobi strap. On the foot it feels soft and does not run hot. Sole, footbed and buckle remain Gahalu's.
